Japan's Yomiuri Giants to hold Guam fundraiser for tsunami relief

The Outrigger Guam Resort will host the Japan professional baseball team the Yomiuri Giants for a “Tsunami Relief Charity Fundraising event for the Tohoku Area” from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 6 and Jan.14 in the hotel's lobby.
Shinosuke Abe and his teammates will hold a press conference with questions and answers, and players will be available for photo opportunities with their fans.
Raffle tickets will be sold during the event to raise funds. Two special items will be raffled as prizes: an autographed baseball; and a gift bag with special items and memorabilia from participating players.
Ticket prices are $5 per ticket for the autographed baseball prize and $20 per ticket for the gift bag prize. All proceeds raised are for Japan's Tohoku area, which was struck by a devastating tsunami in March 2011.
The Yomiuri Giants players’ independent training on Guam has become an annual event and this month, 12 players will be participating in this training.
